I’d like to wish all my Muslim friends and family a Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri (Happy Eid Mubaraq). May it be a joyous event amongst loved ones.
I’m sure it will be a time of celebration and festivity wherever you may be, especially when accompanied with the people you care about. I’m no exception as I meet with family, friends, neighbours and colleagues. It’s a once-a-year thing so expect a lot of small talk and walks down memory lane!
That said, my ‘trips’ will only begin today. Yesterday was mainly about entertaining the kids who gaily arrive in throngs to get their Raya money! Ah, the joy of being kids! I remember getting a fair amount of cash from all these visit; quite lucrative really! 😉
A piece of advice, go easy on the curries and rendangs. As great as they are those things can be lethal if taken in liberal doses! Frequent visit to the loo will also follow as our tummy accustoms itself to eating during the day again.
Finally, do drive carefully. Whether it’s long distance or merely to the shops a few block away. Let’s not make this auspicious event be tainted with a series of unfortunate events.
